Our Mission:

A safe place to promote the healing journey for grieving children, families and individuals.

History of The HHP

Beth Kean and Tricia Trimble’s dream to open a center for grieving children and families became a reality in 2003, with a generous founding grant given by Tricia’s parents, Melvin and Jo Beighle of Skellytown, Texas. Financial support to sustain HHP services comes from Panhandle families, companies, civic groups, foundations, family trusts, memorial gifts, and special events. The HHP is a 501c3, non-profit agency, governed by a local Board of Directors. Our programs were developed using the theories of Dr. Terry Hargrave, an internationally known professor, and author. HHP was founded on the belief that every child, teen, and adult deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment. We believe that grief is a natural and normal reaction to the death of a loved one. Though the duration and intensity of grief are unique for everyone, we believe each person has the natural ability to heal but should not have to deal with death’s aftermath of confusing emotions alone.
