A note about our upcoming meeting….

Dear Board Members,

Road to Hope continues to gain momentum, with 100% of our board financially committed. Thank you for leading by example! Our next step is to build on that commitment through personal introductions. Please continue connecting people in your circles with Jerry and me. Recent community meetings have brought two potential reception hosts and a business owner interested in making a gift.

Our grant work also continues. We await Amarillo Area Foundation’s decision and are preparing applications for Mary E. Bivins, Amarillo Business, and High Plains Christian Ministry Foundations. An introduction to an anonymous foundation allowed us to apply for a significant request for Road to Hope Campaign. For operations, we received a Women’s Philanthropy Foundation grant for $9,950 and submitted a $5,000 request to the Paul and Katherine Morrow Foundation (Thank you, Mariana for that connection).

Meanwhile, our mission remains active through Generations, SOSL, and HeartPrints, with The BIG Cheese just around the corner!

As we gather this month, remember that every introduction, invitation, and act of service helps make room for another grieving family to find support. We have meaningful work ahead, and your leadership is moving us forward. Thank you for sharing your time, treasure, and talent—and for walking this road together to help hearts heal.

Moment of Hope

Heartfelt moments within our walls and Board-Led Community Engagements

Small but Mighty!

We do have a smaller group for this Fall 2026 Generations cycle, only 6 families. After night 2, we are already seeing hope and healing in the hearts and minds of our participants. Here are a couple of things that facilitators spoke about at debrief. An upper elementary facilitator asked a participant, "What is your favorite part of the day?" The answer, "Right now." The middle school group began painting the outside of their masks. One participant painted three question marks on the forehead. The facilitator asked what they meant. The participants answer, "I'm not mad, I'm not sad, I'm just confused."

Program Update 10-2026

Development Update

Development efforts are currently focused on The Big Cheese: Harvest of Hope, with outreach to more than 120 potential cook teams and 120 VIP prospects. Recruitment and VIP sales have been challenging, so the immediate priority is confirming enough cook teams to determine the appropriate scale for the October 24 event. Year-to-date fundraising stands at $39,300 toward the $87,500 goal, while the team continues raffle ticket sales, auction-item collection, and other efforts to close the fundraising gap.
