A note about our upcoming meeting….

Dear Board Members,

Road to Hope Campaign: Giving Made Easy
At our last meeting, we discussed simplifying the donation process for the Road to Hope Campaign—and we've taken action!

You’ll now see a banner at the top of our website prompting donations for our new building. Our primary donation method is PayPal, which integrates directly with our constituent database - which this form utilizes. The good news is Venmo is a subsidiary of PayPal - so both payment forms can be accepted via this method.

We've also updated our "Donate" button to support general giving. On the donate page, you'll now find QR codes and links for Square, PayPal, and Venmo—making it easier than ever to give.

To support your efforts with the Never Cook Again Raffle sales, each of you will receive 50 raffle tickets at our June meeting. You can collect payments via the donate button on our website (debit/credit cards), as well as cash or check.

We've created a handy sheet with all QR codes to simplify payment collection at events.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these updated payment options.

May at a Glance: Milestones & Miracles

  • 🎉 Mission Partner with Life.Church
Life.Church invited us to apply as a Mission Partner—and we were selected! Jared Engle, Missions Pastor, met with MM and me (with celebration coffee, not pity coffee 😉). We’ve been granted $20,000 and will join them at their June 7th & 8th services for a public announcement and volunteer recruitment. Jared will also check in periodically to offer support and connection for the HHP team.

  • 👩‍💼 Welcome, Mariana!
Mariana accepted the position of Projects Coordinator on May 16th and started on June 2nd!

  • 💡 Xcel Energy Grant
We received $8,500 in funding from the Xcel Energy Grant—another big step forward.

  • 🤝 New York Life Matching Grant
Thanks to Regina Veith and the New York Life Foundation, we received a $5,000 matching grant. This also opened the door to potential volunteer opportunities through their Field & Organization Service team.

  • 📄 Grant Reporting & Progress
I submitted the final report for last year’s Catalyst Grant from AAF, making us eligible to apply for their Discretionary Grant in July—specifically for Road to Hope.

  • 📈 Grant Budget Update
We’ve now secured 57% of our total grant goal for the year!

Moment of Hope

Heartfelt moments within our walls and Board-Led Community Engagements

Out of the Mouth of Babes.......

During our final night of Generations, families get to share about their birdhouses.  There typically isn’t a dry eye in the room by the end of the night after all the families who choose to share.  It really is such a blessing to hear stories of their significant people and why they choose specific colors, painted certain designs.....and oh my goodness the creativity that we see!  What I love most about our last evening is that typically a kid will choose to start sharing.  (It puts the greatest peer pressure on the adults that come with them!) You get to see kids smile and light up, and they describe the things glued and painted on their birdhouses and why those things were important to their mom, or dad, sibling, or a grandparent.  Of course, everyone claps and cheers after each presentation. We see these families who walked in so scared and apprehensive four months prior now consider others in the room as extended family.  It is such a bittersweet evening, saying goodbye this this special group of families to make room in our HHP hearts for the next group of families to come and start the cycle all over again.

Pre-Read | Financial Update

Finance Committee Remarks:

Jerry completed the monthly statement review on Friday, June 13, 2025.

  •  The current HSB Trust numbers are incorrect. While entering date for April 2025, I made an error. I’ll be reviewing that with Ellen.

  • The ANB Trust numbers still reflect March info.

  • Jerry stated that comparing 2024 income to 2025 is very encouraging - despite moving TBC to October, and if we omit Sky Camp funds from both years - we’re still holding a similar income balance!
