A note about our upcoming meeting….
Dear Board Members,
I am glad that this webpage was helpful going into our February meeting! The team loved knowing you missed their in-person presentation of the Mission Moment. They will be returning this month. Additionally, our Bankers from Happy State Bank will join us to report on our Trusts’ investment strategies and tips and tricks to understand the statement.
Please join me in offering well wishes to both Dakota Lippon & Holly Wood, who have submitted their resignations from the Board. Dakota has been working diligently to grow her practice and seeing more conflict between her client and HHP schedules. Though she cannot commit to the Board for now, she’d like to help whenever possible. Holly is in a season of extracurricular activities with her children, which many of us can understand and know is fleeting. Thank you both for your hard work!
Thank you, Bre for contributing to the “Good to Great and the Social Sectors” discussion and sharing the highlight, “The confusion between inputs and outputs stems from one of the primary differences between business and the social sectors. In business, money is both an input (a resource for achieving greatness) and an output (a measure of greatness). In the social sectors, money is only an input, and not a measure of greatness.” I had highlighted from page 9, “Greatness is inherently a dynamic process, and not an end point. The moment you think of yourself as great, your slide toward mediocrity will have already begun.” I don’t know about you all, but I always want The HHP to work with guiding morals, values, and principles toward a vision. Your hard work on our Strategic Plan has been a big part of that and set us on the path to the Road to Hope!

Moment of Hope
Heartfelt moments within our walls and Board-Led Community Engagements
They came back!
Night one for our families can feel scary and overwhelming. Even though we give them as much instruction on the particulars of the evening, walking into a room of 75 can feel a bit daunting. On top of that, we ask them to sit and eat dinner with people they don’t know and further ask them to “spill their guts” (well, as much as they want to). They are “sizing up “ us and others in their group and contemplating if this is really worth it. When they show back up on night two, it's a win for everyone! While I accomplish a lot of the behind-the-scenes tasks, I know that it is the entirety of the team making families feel as comfortable as possible on that first night of program. It is this very effort from everyone that allows these families to trust us enough to come back!

HIGHLIGHTS
Back in the Saddle
🙌Sessions 1 and 2 of Generations (February 4 and 18)
🙌WOWW @ Wolflin (February 6) We saw the entire 5th grade class and did a lesson about Resiliency. Becca and LeAnn (interns) came and helped facilitate the lesson.
🙌NW4K (Networking 4 Kids, February 20)
🙌River Road ISD Community Resource Fair. Becca, Leann, and Krystalin (interns) set up and visited with River Road families at the HHP table.
🙌I started session 1 of 7 at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch with a group of Middle School aged girls that experienced the suicide of a resident in their girls' home.
🙌Began the updating/revising of the MS/HS curriculum.
🙌Received great feedback from the updated adult curriculum.
LOWLIGHTS
The first of many, I’m sure........
Already have already found a place in the adult curriculum that needs a slight fix for clarity. Thankful to the facilitator who mentioned this to me during a debriefing and it has already been fixed! I have every anticipation that we will find a few more of these during the cycle.
KEY INITIATIVES
The start of the program cycle allows for returning to a routine and accomplishing weekly and time-sensitive tasks. The routine felt good to get back into!
1
We love being a part of WOWW and serving elementary-aged kids with great life skills lessons. It also always feels good to step away from the topic of death and grief for a small moment. I have started to update and organize our WOWW curriculum and supplies.
2
When required, I will follow up with Generations families and facilitators after each session to make sure we are serving them to the best of our ability.
3
Planning a hybrid curriculum (with last years’ intern Adam) to serve the 7 Boys Ranch girls. I will work closely with the BR counseling team and adjust as needed for maximum benefit.
LOOKING AHEAD
The month of March will be spent ensuring a smooth continuation to Generations and looking at when we might launch our next groups of HeartPrints and SOSL. Also, the interns, Becky and I will continue to work through the Children’s side of the curriculum.
I'd love your feedback if you have any ideas. Be sure to submit your comments so I can provide sufficient responses.

HIGHLIGHTS
🙌Followed up with Karen Isern to discuss our meeting on a 2025 HHP Hero of Hope Sponsorship and she committed ANB to a $5,000 TBC sponsorship. HHP will also make ANB a presenting sponsor for the HM due to the In-Kind sponsorship of using ANB’s parking lot and other facilities.
🙌 I have spent considerable time doing orientation and training with the new WT social work interns. Having Mariana in the office 32 hrs. a week has been an enormous help. I have filled out the forms required by WT to hopefully get another full-time social work intern for the fall 2025 semester.
🙌 The Wiley Hicks Jr Memorial Roping chair Kami Reece and I have been working closely together on details to make the event more immersive. This event occurred on March 15-16, 2025, and will be discussed in further detail at the April meeting.
🙌 The 16th annual half marathon is off to a great start; the HM chair, Sarah Pirtle, and I have been working closely together on details for a successful event that will occur on May 10, 2025.
Flyers are made and are being distributed
Social media is successfully posting about the race
We currently have 20 runners registered, 13 of which are NEW runners (compared to last year’s registration list). We had our first registration for the 2025 race in August 2024.
2024 Comparisons:
-Our first registration was 2/26/2024
-We didn't have 17 registrations until April 15th 2025
We currently have 3 of the 6 Aid Stations sponsored:
#1 is always HHP staff/Board
#2 is HotWorx Fitness
#3 is Fire Slice Pizza
🙌 The High Plains Toy & Antique Tractor Show was a success. Thank you to Heath Henderson for making the opportunity available to HHP. Heath arranged for the silent auction proceeds to be donated to HHP along with a “Peterbuilt Truck and Dump Trailer” donated by The Happy Toy Maker valued at $700 (a priceless item) to be raffled off at the show and any other places that HHP might have the opportunity to raise funds. Currently, the raffle and silent auction brought in $1,775!!!
LOWLIGHTS
You win some; you lose some…
Since September 2024, I have made multiple attempts at contacting Axigent Technologies for a continued sponsorship, with no success. Candice agreed to help initiate contact. David Doan replied to Candice and said they could not continue their sponsorship for 2025. They became a Champion Partner when Tiffany Laur was Executive Director. Throughout their time with us, they donated just under $100,000. Candice has mailed a card thanking them for all they have done. David said they would continue to provide us with technical support.
I have also been unable to contact Chris Pirtle with Baptist Community Services after multiple attempts since September. Breanna will help us with a follow-up to Russell Johnson with Happy State Bank.
Closing the Gap and hitting the Target
Currently, I am focused on engaging Valero, Hot Works Fitness, The Bank of America, and businesses along the half marathon route.
KEY INITIATIVES
Strategic Plan Objective: Increase Sponsorships
Goal: $110,000 through our events
Timeline: Half Marathon: May 10, 2025; Wings of Hope: September 6, 2025; The Big Cheese: October 7, 2025
🟢 Current status: Of the $110,000 of events funds to be raised, $80,000 is through Sponsorships. I have raised 25%, or $19,750, towards that goal with three partnerships.
Strategic Plan Objective: Increase Strategic Partnerships (Updates from February Reporting)
Updated the HHP Development Calendar for Nobox & KAMR to ensure cohesion in messaging.
-This Objective has been successfully fulfilled and sent to KAMR. I will implement this calendar in future activities to keep cohesion and keep everyone updated on that implementation.
Creating a more immersive experience of HHP at the WHMR.
-This Objective will be implemented on March 15-16. I will report back at the April meeting on the implementation
We will be providing support to the High Plains Toy & Antique Tractor Show.
-This Objective was successfully fulfilled and implemented on February 28th and March 1st.
