This summer we will begin volunteer led support activities which we believe will be appealing to both new and returning children, families, and individuals. New grief based activities will include scrapebooking, writing your story, sleep & rest, food and nutrition, quilting, and birdhouse painting. All these are new ways of doing "Restoration" from a family or peer death.
Will the "Sidedoor" become our new "Front Door?"
Will new callers begin with writing and then enroll in a spouse loss support group?
Will a teen in our Generations/Family Program continue their grief journey in a writing group?
We believe both support groups and grief activities can and will lead to the healing of a child's heart and to healthy grieving following a death by suicide, accident, or medical cause.
I will let you know more about our "doors" as the summer continues for us all.
