Early in life I was taught to believe in the Goodness of people.
I continue that belief in the Goodness of people both today and for the tomorrow's to come.
I believe and trust in the Goodness of........
The children, teens, families, and individuals who seek our services and attend one of our grief support groups
The volunteers who give their time, learning and skills, and their caring in leading support groups, preparing materials, washing dishes, and giving us their thoughts on improving the ways we serve and support others
The donors and supporters who are our advocates and will sustain Hope & Healing Place for the next 15 - 20 yrs
The wonderful and highly skilled staff who who will do anything at anytime to support the grief journey of a child, teen, or family
The community partners who share our belief that it is the connections and relationships that will both make us all better and lead to the healing of the heart of a child.
I encourage everyone to believe in the Goodness of people today. Their Goodness will sustain us all.
It's time to pull those old tennis shoes out of the closet, dust them off and start training for HHP's Half Marathon coming up on Mother's Day, May 11th.
Run in memory of a lost loved one or friend, or in honor of your mother and make your steps matter. Join the team at HHP as we "go the distance" to help those experiencing grief along the path to recovery and hope.
More details to follow. For more information or to follow our blogs, please visit the race website at: amarillohalfmarathon.org.
For some of us 2013 ended on the emotional upswing of holidays and completing tasks and activities.
For others, and many individuals and families with Hope & Healing Place, the calendar change does not change their grief or the missing of sibling, child, spouse, grandparent, or peer.
The challenges of restoring normal is still present each morning.
The 2014 calendar will bring dates all to fast and all too often.
Even with all these challenges there is Hope.
This Hope is about not meeting grief alone.
HHP has different support groups to match most individual and family needs.
Early in 2014 HHP will go forward with a teen suicide prevention program for the Panhandle.
Our day time spouse loss support group begins in January.
Generations, our family support program welcomes 16+ families to child friendly and family based grief services.
And more.....See hhpamarillo.org for full information. Watch a short film on our HHP web site also.
So, as with you, your work, and your family we continue our continuing into 2014.
We welcome your calls, take a brief tour of Hope & Healing, or register for one of our support groups.
Whatever the need, whatever the timing, Hope & Healing Place is your place in 2014.
